Nonconformists

This category comprises all entries where the owner of a library has been identified as a nonconformist minister; many of these men were ordained within the Church of England before the Civil War, held livings during the 1640s and 50s, but after 1660 refused the oaths required to remain in office, on the grounds of their religious views.
