A member of [[organisations::Furnivall's Inn]] and then of [[organisations::Lincoln's Inn]] (1587), he entered [[organisations::Doctors' Commons]] in 1595 and became a [[occupation::Master in Chancery]] in 1597.  He was [[occupation::MP]] for [[location::Calne]] in 1593 and 1597 and [[occupation::sheriff]] of [[location::Shropshire]] in 1621-2.

Biographical Note

Son of Hugh Edwards of Rushbury, Shropshire. A member of Furnivall's Inn and then of Lincoln's Inn (1587), he entered Doctors' Commons in 1595 and became a Master in Chancery in 1597. He was MP for Calne in 1593 and 1597 and sheriff of Shropshire in 1621-2.

Books

Several books with Edwards's armorial stamp survive; the extent and disposition of his library are not known. Examples: Durham University Library SR 6.c.4, National Art Library CLE P12.

Characteristic Markings

Durham University Library SR 6.c.4 has his signature "Tho: Edwards" on the titlepage, and at the end of the preface.
