John FARRINGTON d.1714

Biographical Note

Possibly the man of this name, originally from Worcestershire, who graduated BA at Queen's College Oxford in 1683, though there are other possibilities in Foster. A lawyer by profession, who described himself in his will as being of the Inner Temple; at the time of his death he had property in London and Lincolnshire. According to an attribution by Anthony Wood, Farrington was the author of a Latin life of the Unitarian minister John Bidle (1615-62), published in 1682 (ESTC r24321).

Books

Farrington's will has no mention of books; his estate and goods were left to his wife, and after that to his nephew John Philpott. His library was sold in London by retail sale in two parts, the English books beginning 19 February 1715, and the law books beginning 9 March 1715.

Characteristic Markings

None of Farrington's books have been identified.
