Biographical Note

Second son of Thomas Anton (d.1559) of Strathfieldsaye. He studied at King's College, Cambridge, receiving his BA in 1571 and MA in 1574 after having already being admitted a fellow in 1569. Anton was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1575, and was called to the bar. He became Recorder of Lincoln in 1587, and served as MP for Lincoln 1588 1589, 1592 1593 and 1601.

Books

Anton gave manuscripts to Lincoln’s Inn; books survive with his armorial stamp.
