Henry WINFORD 1642-1685
Biographical Note
Younger son of Sir John Winford of Astley, Worcestershire. Matriculated at Queen’s College Oxford 1660, but did not graduate; barrister of the Inner Temple, 1668. Inherited the family estate at Astley on the death of his elder brother John in 1682.
Books
Winford’s probate inventory includes books to the value of £12, a small part of a total estate valued at £1465. His will includes no specific mention of books, which would have passed with the rest of his goods and chattels to his eldest son Harry.
