Francis JUNIUS 1589-1677

Biographical Note

Born at Heidelberg, Germany, son of Franciscus Junius (1545–1602). Matriculated at the University of Leiden in 1608. Philological scholar, librarian and tutor for the son and grandchildren of Thomas Howard, Earl of Arundel.

Bequeathed important collections of books and manuscripts, to the Bodleian.
