Sir Samuel Barnardiston, 1st baronet, 1620-1707

Biographical Note

Of Brightwell. Member of a prominent Suffolk family including Sir Thomas Barnardiston, 3rd baronet, (1674-1700), Ann Barnardiston (d.1701), Sir Nathaniel Barnardiston, 4th baronet, (d.1712) who were variously merchants, MPs, and establishers of baronetcies.

Characteristic Markings

They each had engraved armorial bookplates, variously dated between 1699 and 1704.
