Thomas CHOLMONDELEY 1627-1702

Biographical Note

Son of Thomas Cholmondeley of Vale Royal, Cheshire, a long-established gentry family there; he inherited the family estates in 1653. Sheriff of Cheshire 1661, MP for Cheshire 1670, when he was noted as a reasonably active Member, and again in 1685.

Books

Cholmondeley used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 5809); the extent and disposition of his library are not known.
