Biographical Note

Of Barlings, Lincolnshire; probably one of the younger sons of Sir Christopher Wray (1601-1646). Few biographical details can be traced, but the preface to sale catalogue refers to him as a gentleman and a scholar, who gathered curiosities during his travels.
