Laurence HYDE, 1st Earl of Rochester 1642-1711
Biographical Note
2nd son of Edward Hyde, 1st Earl of Clarendon (1609-1674). MP for Newport in 1660, Oxford University in 1661 and Wootton Bassett in 1679. Made Master of the Robes in 1662 and in 1676 he was appointed ambassador-extraordinary by Charles II to the king of Poland.

Used an engraved armorial bookplate.
