Books

He used an engraved armorial bookplate (‘John Morgan, of Kingsthorpe in the County of Northampton, Esqr.’): Franks 21072; *407 (another impression).

He inherited his father’s books from his Middle Temple chambers and at Kingsthorpe, apart from any that his mother might have ‘culld and pickt out’ to keep or sell. The content of his own library is not known. In his will he bequeathed to Rev. Charles Manning ‘one set of the Fathers which are in my Study in the Temple and at my Study in Kingsthorpe to be at his Election’. His wife Tryphena inherited the remainder of his books.
