Sir William DUNBAR of Hempriggs, 2nd bart, ca.1705-1793

Biographical Note

The eldest son of James Sutherland (died before 1739) who took the surname Dunbar on his marriage to Elizabeth Dunbar of Hempriggs ca.1705 and who was then created a baronet as James Dunbar in 1706.

Used an engraved bookplate (Franks 9264): Dunbar, Sir William, of Hemprigs, Bart. 1742

The extent and disposition of his library is not known.
