John POLLEN 1702?-1775
Biographical Note
Younger son of John Pollen of Andover, MP. Matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford 1719, but did not graduate; he was admitted at Lincoln's Inn 1718 (barrister, 1726). He was MP for 1734-54 and became a circuit judge in Wales in 1742 (chief justice of the circuit, 1753).
Books
Pollen used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 23773). The extent of his library is not known; in his brief will, he left most of his goods and property to his son John.
