John WASHER 1675/6-1749
Biographical Note
Son of Thomas Washer of St Dunstan's, London, gentleman. Matriculated at Christ Church Oxford 1692, but did not graduate; he became a barrister at Lincoln's Inn, and was treasurer there in 1736.
Books
Washer used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 30979); the extent and disposition of his library is not known. His will, in which he describes himself as "of Sundridge, in the parish of Bromley, Kent", has no mention of books; the residue of his personal estate was bequeathed to his daughter Elizabeth Willson.
