Biographical Note
Of Yetminster, Dorset, son of Richard Cooth. BA New College, Oxford 1616, MA 1620. Rector of Shepton Mallet, Somerset 1621-45, of Corton Denham 1630 (sequestered 1645, order to be restored 1647); prebendary of Sarum 1621, of Wells 1623.
Books
Cooth’s library was auctioned in 1685, as part of a joint sale including the books of Ambrose Atfield. He gave a copy of Blanchinus, Tabulae (1495) to New College, 1621 (Rhodes 380.6).
