Sir John HARINGTON 1561-1612
Biographical Note
Of Kelston, near Bath; son of John Harington (c.1517–1582). Educated at King's College, Cambridge, BA 1578, MA 1581. Courtier, author, and translator; Harington is known for publishing the first complete translation of Ludovico Ariosto's epic romance poem Orlando Furioso into English and for his work A New Discourse of a Stale Subject, called the Metamorphosis of Ajax (1596).
Books
Booklists survive which show that he had a sizeable library, including many plays.
