Aris's bookplate (British Museum Franks Collection 684)

A lawyer of the Inner Temple, whose name appears in documents in the National Archives dated between 1720 and 1744, but has otherwise not been traced; he used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 684). The extent and disposition of his library is not known.
