Walter BARTLETT 1585-1641
Biographical Note
Elder son of Richard Bartlett/Barttelot of Stopham, Sussex and a member of a gentry family long established there. He inherited the family estates from his father in 1614. JP 1619, MP for Bramber 1625-6, though not recorded as having been an active parliamentarian. He died intestate leaving only daughters; one of these married Henry, son of Walter's cousin [[family::Henry (d.1639), who inherited the Stopham estates.
