Peter BROWN or BROWNE d.1692

Biographical Note

Early career not known; he was created a Cambridge DD in 1684. Rector of Langley, Kent 1662, where his son Edward succeeded him; vicar of Chart, 1664.

Books

In his will, Brown bequeathed his "library of books" to his son Edward, on condition that he pay each of his brothers and sisters £5 apiece "for having them all". The joint library of the Browns, father and son, was auctioned in London, 10.5.1714.
