Henry MOLLE ca.1597-1658
Biographical Note
Born at Leicester. BA King's College, Cambridge 1617, fellow 1615, MA 1620, spent the rest of his life based at King's, apart from a brief period of ejectment around 1650; senior proctor 1633, vice-provost, public orator for the University from 1639.
Books
Books with Molle's inscription are now found in numerous libraries, with a quantity at Balliol College, Oxford, suggesting that he had an appreciable library. Examples: BL MS Harl 6495 ff 147-8; Pembroke, Cambridge 11.5.4; Emmanuel, Cambridge 329.8.61; Sidney Sussex, Cambridge F.3.5.
Characteristic markings
Some of the books with Molle's inscription also carry the motto "Res tuas age".
