Robert BURSCOUGH 1650/1-1709
Biographical Note
Born at Cartmel, Lancashire, son of Thomas Burscough. BA Queen's College, Oxford 1672, MA 1682. Vicar of Totnes, Devon 1681, prebendary of Exeter 1701, archdeacon of Barnsaple 1703, rector of Cheriton Bishop, Devon 1705. He published a number of doctrinal works.
Books
Burscough bequeathed several hundred volumes to Exeter Cathedral Library. His collection of manuscripts was purchased for the Harleian Library in 1715; he was listed in Edward Bernard's Catalogi manuscriptorum, 1697, as owning 111 manuscripts.
