Henry BROUNCKER 1707-1769
Biographical Note
Son of Francis Brouncker, of Westminster. He was apprenticed to John Swinnerton, of Lincoln's Inn in 1721, and became a solicitor in 1730. In 1736 he became deputy collector for St Kitts in the West Indies, where he was based for the rest of his life.
Books
Brouncker used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 3947); the extent of his library is not known. His will, in which most of his property was divided between his wife and four children, has no mention of books.
