Ferrers SHIRLEY 1696-1712
Biographical Note
Of Staunton Harold, Leicestershire; second son of Robert Shirley (1673-99), and younger brother of Robert Shirley, Viscount Tamworth.
Characteristic Markings
An engraved armorial bookplate was made for him (not earlier than 1711, the year in which his grandfather was created Earl Ferrers, to which the plate refers; Franks 26802). Given his death shortly thereafter while still a teenager, it seems unlikely that he would have had much of a library.
