William YEOMANS or YEMANS 1555/6-1633
Biographical Note
Of Somerset. BA Balliol College, Oxford 1576, MA 1579. At the time of his death, he was vicar of St Philip and St Jacob, Bristol, and a prebendary of Bristol Cathedral (installed there 1622); he is recorded as a minister witnessing a west country will in 1606 and presumably had a clerical career there.
Books
Yeomans’ probate inventory includes “the remainder of the books which were not given in the deceaseds life time”, valued at £20 (from a total estate of £311); he evidently had a larger collection which was partly dispersed before his death.
Characteristic Markings
None of Yeomans’ books have been identified.
