Biographical Note

Born at Derby, son of Richard Staniforth, rector of Breadsall. BA Christ’s College, Cambridge 1652. Curate of Allestree, Derbyshire, 1657; ejected 1662. Continued working in Derbyshire as an independent minister, and sometimes arrested; licensed as a Presbyterian at Chaddesden, 1672.
