William FORD d.1708
Biographical Note
Son of William Ford, of Heyford-at-Bridge, Oxfordshire. BA New College, Oxford 1690, fellow of fellow there, MA 1694.
Books
Ford's library was auctioned in Oxford, 21.3.1709. The sale catalogue contains 2169 lots, divided between Latin theology and miscellaneaous (1031 lots), and English divinity and miscellaneous (1138). The catalogue notes, on the titlepage, the inclusion of books "by these celebrated printers: viz., Henry Stephens, Wechelius, Plantin, Elzevir, &c"; within the catalogue, a number of items are noted as being sold in quires, i.e. unbound.
