Charles SAGAR 1636-1698
Biographical Note
Son of Thomas Sagar of Whalley, Lancashire, husbandman. BA St John’s College, Cambridge 1657. Master of Blackburn School, Lancashire 1656; ejected as a nonconformist, 1666. Licensed to preach as a Presbyterian in Blackburn 1672. He was active as a minister in and around Blackburn for the rest of his life, and was briefly imprisoned in 1683.
