Biographical Note

Son of Richard Samwayes, vicar of Ilminster, Somerset. BA Corpus Christi College, Oxford 1634, MA 1637, fellow 1638-48, when he was ejected, but reinstated in 1660; BD 1661. Rector of Meysey Hampton, Gloucestershire 1661-69.
