Biographical Note
Son of Richard Samwayes, vicar of Ilminster, Somerset. BA Corpus Christi College, Oxford 1634, MA 1637, fellow 1638-48, when he was ejected, but reinstated in 1660; BD 1661. Rector of Meysey Hampton, Gloucestershire 1661-69. Published book title:;''Englands faithfull reprover and monitour'' in 1653; according to Anthony Wood, he had other works "fitted for the press", which were lost.
