Henry FERRERS 1550-1633
Biographical Note
Of Baddesley Clinton, Warwickshire; antiquary. Son of Edward Ferrers (d.1564). Educated at Hart Hall, Oxford; entered the Middle Temple in 1572. MP for Callington, Cornwall 1597. Interested in heraldry, genealogy, and antiquities, Ferrers amassed a considerable collection of antiquarian materials. His collection was made extensive use of by William Dugdale for his Antiquities of Warwickshire (1656).
Books
His inscription is found in books associated with St Mary’s Church, Warwick; known to have had a library which was dispersed soon after his death.
