John BENNET or BENNETT 1623/4-93

Biographical Note

BA Clare College, Cambridge 1624. Rector of Whitwick, Leicestershire (ejected 1662); spent time in London after the Restoration, and licensed to preach in Littleover, Derbyshire 1672.

Books

Bennet's library was auctioned in London, 18.5.1694. The sale catalogue contains 1613 lots, divided between Latin and Greek theology, history, philology, etc (749 lots), medicine (110), French, Italian and Spanish books (50), and English divinity, history, etc (704).
