John GAMBLYN or GAMLIN d.1715

Biographical Note

Born in Middlesex. BA Queens’ College, Cambridge 1669, MA 1672. Vicar of Herne Hill, Kent 1676, of Preston 1684, of Faversham from around the same time, until his death.

Books

Gamblyn’s library was sold by fixed price sale in London, 24 November 1715, together with that of “a person of quality deceas’d”. The catalogue, divided only by format and not subject, included 1145 lots; it is not known what proportion of these were Gamblyn’s.
