Biographical Note
Of Nottinghamshire. BA St John’s College, Cambridge 1576, fellow 1577, MA 1579, BD 1586, President 1590. Provost of Trinity College, Dublin 1601-9.
Books
Alvey bequeathed a number of his own books, and 100 marks for the purchase of books, to St John’s. Ca.50 of these books remain in the library today, mostly theological.
