Edward CARY d.1711
Biographical Note
Born at Melford, Suffolk; son of John Cary (d.1639?). A Roman Catholic priest, he was ordained in 1651, served as chaplain to Sir George Cary at Torre Abbey, Devon, and made a canon in 1681. Appointed chaplain-general to the army by James II in 1684; fled abroad after 1689. He died in France in 1711.
