Daniel SHELMERDINE 1637-1699
Biographical Note
Son of Thomas Shelmerdine, rector of Matlock, Derbyshire. BA Christ’s College, Cambridge 1656, MA 1659. Vicar of Barrow on Trent with Twyford, Derbyshire, 1657; ejected 1662. He continued to preach as an independent minister in and around Twyford, and was variously indicted and imprisoned; he was licensed at his house in Twyford as a Presbyterian in 1672.
