Sir John BORLASE, 2nd bart ca.1640-1689
Biographical Note
Son of Sir John Borlase, 1st baronet, from whom he inherited the title in 1672. Matriculated at Oriel College, Oxford 1657, but did not graduate. MP for Chipping Wycombe and Great Marlow between 1673 and 1689, where he is not recorded as an active parliamentarian; his main residence was at Bockmore Medmenham, Buckinghamshire.

Borlase's probate inventory lists “one chest of drawers thirty four books a nest of drawers [and other furniture]”, in the closet adjoining the parlour, valued at £6 4s 0d.
