Biographical Note
Born at Nantwich, Cheshire, son of William Lee, merchant. BA Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge 1634, fellow of Peterhouse 1636, MA 1637, DD 1664. Rector of St Martin Orgar, London 1643, of Hatfield, Hertfordshire 1647, Master of Royston Hospital 1650. He retained his Hatfield benefice after the Restoration by conforming to the Church of England.
Books
Lee's library was auctioned in Hatfield, 28.4.1685 "by the appointment, and for the benefit of Mrs. Eliz. Lee". The sale catalogues contains 1255 lots, subdivided between Latin theology (311 lots), English divinity (707), English miscellaneous (160), bound volumes of sermons and tracts (27), and bundles of pamphlets (50).
