Ralph KETTELL 1563-1643

Biographical Note

Son of John Kettell, of King's Langley, Hertfordshire, gentleman. BA Trinity College, Oxford 1582, fellow 1583, MA 1586, BTh 1594, DTh 1597. He remained with the College for the rest of his life, becoming President in 1599 (and, in consequence, rector of Garsington, Oxfordshire).

Books

Kettell's probate inventory listed "all his books" with a value of £80, from a total estate valued at £724 2s 8d. He bequeathed books to Trinity, and otherwise his books were to be divided between Edward, George and Ralph Bathurst, fellows of Trinity. Examples: many at Trinity College, Oxford.
