The library of "Mr. Emerton, an attorney in Threadneedle Street" - who has not been otherwise identified - was saold by retail sale in London, beginning 15 November 1727. No catalogue survives, but the sale was advertised in the Daily Journal as including law, history, divinity, travels, voyages, plays, poetry, architecture, etc".
