John RILAND or RYLAND 1620/1-1673

Biographical Note

Son of Richard Riland, of Radbrooke, Gloucestershire. BA Magdalen College, Oxford 1637, MA and fellow 1640. Ejected from the college in 1647. Archdeacon of Stafford 1660 and of Coventry 1661, may also have been rector of Spernall, Warwickshire.

Books

During the Civil War Riland complained that his study in Oxford was broken up, with the loss of all his books and papers, which were allegedly sold.
