Biographical Note
Eldest son of Sir Charles Bickerstaffe of Seal, Kent (d.1704). Travelled extensively in Europe, during which time he acquired many books.
Characteristic Markings
Used an armorial binding stamp, an ink stamp, and two bookplates. His books were sold in London as an appendix to the auction of Robert Hooke’s library, 29.4.1703 (697 lots).
