Herbert JACOB 1674/5-1725
Biographical Note
Son of Sir Abraham Jacob, governor of Walmer Castle, Kent. Matriculated at St John's College, Cambridge 1691, but did not graduate; admitted at the Inner Temple 1692. He later lived at St Stephens near Canterbury, Kent and was buried in the church there.

Jacob used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 16233). the extent of his library is not known; he bequeathed books to the Inner Temple Library, many of which remain there today.
