Biographical Note
Son of Christopher Lamplugh (d. in or before 1625) of Little Riston, Yorkshire. BA Queen's College, Oxford 1639, MA and fellow 1642. Rector of St Anthony's, London and archdeacon of London 1664, and was appointed principal of St Alban Hall the same year. Made prebendary of Worcester in 1669 and vicar of St Martin-in-the-Fields, London in 1670. In 1673 he was installed as dean of Rochester, bishop of Exeter in 1676 and archbishop of York 1688.
Books
Lamplugh's will (printed by Jabez-Smith) has no reference to books; most of his estate passed to his son Thomas. His library was auctioned in London (at least the Greek and Latin books), 8.2.1704 (the only recorded copy, at the National Library of Ireland, cannot be found today).
Characteristic Markings
