John HILL 1612/3-1682
Biographical Note
Son of Guy Hill, of Bristol. Matriculated at Lincoln College, Oxford, but no graduation recorded. Vicar of Bitton, Gloucestershire 1637, of Elburton 1643; rector of Newton Ferrers, Devon 1652 (ejected 1661); licensed to preach as a presbyterian at Exeter, 1672.
Books
Hill's will refers to “all my French books”; we do not know the extent of his library, and his whole estate was valued at only £25 5s.
