William PAGET, 6th Baron Paget 1637-1713
Biographical Note
Son of Thomas Paget, 4th baron paget (c.1544-1590). Matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford in 1587; BA 1590. Admitted to the Middle Temple in 1611. Accompanied Essex on his Cadiz expedition in 1596, and Sir Robert Cecil on his embassy to Paris in 1598. A colonialist, Paget was heavily involved in trade through the East India Company and was councillor of the Virginia Company.
