Biographical Note
Alston notes that Migliorucci was a London dealer of silver bullion who became an English citizen in 1709, and a 1710 naturalization deed for a Joseph Migliorucci can be found in the British Library. However, these details may actually refer to Count Peter Joseph Migliorucci. In his will Peter bequeathed five pound sterling to Mr Mark Joseph Migliorucci "as dying in charity with him although grosly abused by him". Could Mark Joseph be the Joseph Mark of this entry?
Books
His books were sold by auction in London from 24 January 1716. Migliorucci's full name is listed among the subscribers of the 1726 edition of Selden's "Jurisconsulti Opera Omnia Tam Edita quam Inedita". Migliorucci's books were described by advertisements in the Daily Journal as "a collection of scarce and valuable Books, in most faculties and languages".
Characteristic Markings
At least one of Migliorucci's books may have been identified in the collections of Sion College Library at Lambeth Palace Library: a copy of Pius II, Pope. Pii. II. Pon. Max. Asiae Europaeque elegantissima descriptio (Paris, 1534), B12.4/P68. Beneath the imprint on the title page is inscribed “E [X?] Bibl: Jos. Migliorucci – f: 1714”. Copies have also been located at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, acquired by Henry Hare, 3rd Baron Coleraine, probably at the sale of Migliorucci's books in 1716 - e.g. LF.1.a.11.
