Sir John STONHOUSE or STONEHOUSE, 3rd baronet 1672?-1733
Biographical Note
Son of Sir John Stonhouse of Radley, 2nd bart, from whom he inherited the title and family estates in 1700. Matriculated at Queen's College, Oxford 1690, but did not graduate; admitted at the Inner Temple in the same year. He was MP for Berkshire 1701-33, and held several local and administrative offices.
Books
Stonhouse used an engraved armorial bookplate, dated 1705 (Franks *166). The extent of his library is not known; his will has no mention of books, which would have passed (as part of his goods, chattels and personal estate) to his eldest son John, who succeeded him as 4th baronet.
