John HAWKER d.1754
Biographical Note
Son of John Hawker of Sandwich, Kent, who purchased property in Deal which passed to his son and which was variously leased out to others during the first half of the century. Little else has been traced about his biography; he described himself in his will as being of Sandwich, and he left all his estate and property to his wife Jane, both their children having died in infancy.
Books
Hawker used an engraved armorial bookplate, "John Hawker e Com. Cant." (Franks 14130); the extent of his library is not known.
