Books

At least part of Orby's library was sold by auction in London alongside the household goods of his brother Thomas' widow on 10 May 1727. The auction was advertised in the Daily Post and the Daily Journal. Advertisements describe the inclusion of manuscripts from India and China, which belonged to Charles: "Note, the greater part of this fine collection came to the late Lady from Sir Charles Orby, who was twice married to two India Merchants Widows, the one Mrs Besen, the other a daughter of Lady Muddiford".
