====Biographical Note====
Son of the MP [[family::Edmund Webb]] and [[family::Jane Smith]] of [[location::Rodbourne Cheney and Fifield, Wiltshire]]. Admitted to the [[organisations::Middle Temple]] in 1683, and [[occupation::barrister|called to the bar]] in 1689. [[occupation::MP]] for [[location::Calne, Wiltshire|Calne]] in 1685, [[location::Cricklade, Wiltshire|Cricklade]] in 1702, and [[location::Devizes, Wiltshire|Devizes]] in 1710.  Clerk of alienations 1689 until his death; solicitor to Prince George by 1692-1708; [[occupation::serjeant-at-law]] from 1705 until his death. Married 1. [[family::Elizabeth Thomson]]; 2. [[family::Mary Dolman]].

He had an engraved armorial bookplate dated 1703: 24981; *408 (another impression).
