Thomas CRYER d.1568

Biographical Note

BA Queens' College, Cambridge 1540, MA 1561 (he may have been away from Cambridge during the later 1540s or 50s). At the time of his death he was described as parson of Bircham, Norfolk; he may also have been rector of Southchurch.

Books

Cryer's probate inventory includes ca.50 books, valued at £4 2s 8d (from a total estate valued at £211 10s 2d). The books are mostly in Latin, with some Greek ones, with a predominance of theology alongside some classics and other subjects. He bequeathed all his books to Marmaduke Mounson, a student at St Catharine's College and one of his executors. The full inventory is edited as Leedham-Green no.129 (see full citation below).
